The Rolling Stones “Sweet Summer Sun: Hyde Park Live”

New live DVD chronicles the Stone’s landmark Hyde Park concerts last summer

Just in time for the holidays, the Rolling Stones have released a new live DVD Sweet Summer Sun: Hyde Park Live. The live DVD chronicles the band‘s historic return to Hyde Park this summer for a series of concerts.

The last time the Stones had played Hyde Park was in 1969, mere days on from the death of founding guitarist Brian Jones.

Last summer the band returned to play in the park for the first time since then as part of their 50th Anniversary celebrations which have been ongoing throughout the year.

“It was beautiful with the sun going down over Hyde Park,” said Mick Jagger in a statement released about the project. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the Rolling Stones 50 than doing it on our home patch in front of 100,000 people on a glorious summer night . . . Enjoy it; we certainly did.”

There are 16 tracks on the DVD including classics like “Start Me Up,” “Brown Sugar,” “Gimme Shelter,” and “Tumbling Dice,” as well as a version of their latest single, “Doom and Gloom.”
