The Replacements Reunite for the First Time in 22 Years

The Replacements reunite for a trio of shows

The Replacements have announced their lineup for a trio of reunion shows that will mark the Minneapolis rock band‘s first live appearance together in 22 years. Singer/guitarist Paul Westerberg and original bassist Tommy Stinson, will be joined by drummer Josh Freese and guitarist Dave Minehan, both of whom backed Westerberg’s solo project in the Nineties.

Freese and Mineham are both members of the band The Neighborhood, and the drummer once did a stint with Stinson in one of the latter-day Guns ‘N’ Roses lineups.

The Replacements are set to appear next Saturday, August 25th in Toronto, followed by appearances in Chicago on September 15th and Denver on September 21st.

Here’s some very early footage of the band playing at the 7th Street Entry in Minneapolis in 1981.
