The Killers Partner with Werner Herzog for Live Concert on the Web

Indie rock darlings, the Killers are teaming up with acclaimed film director Werner Herzog for a filmed concert performance that will be broadcast live on the web tomorrow.

The eccentric German director will film the band’s set at the Paradise Theater in the Bronx tomorrow night at 7 p.m. EST. The performance is part of the American Express Unstaged series that pairs bands with film directors for filmed concert events that are streamed live on VEVO and YouTube.

Herzog is an innovative director who is best known for films he made with actor Klaus Kinski back in the Seventies and Eighties like Aquirre: The Wrath of God, Nosferatu and Fitzcarraldo.

The live webcast performance also coincides with the U.S. release date of the Killers’ latest album Battle Born.

As you might expect from a director who once made his crew haul a steamship over a hill in the Amazon, Herzog reportedly has big ideas for capturing the Las Vegas indie rockers’ performance on film.

“He has ideas for someone crowd surfing with a camera on,” said Killers bass player Mark Stoermer speaking by phone to “I think there’s gonna be an animal involved.”

You can watch the Killers live tomorrow on VEVO or YouTube. On a mobile device, you can view it on VEVO’s free mobile app and on the Xbox live app.
