As a follow-up to our interview with guitar great Jimmy Vivino, check Jimmy with The Fab Faux performing “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” at the Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool.
As one blogger put it: “this is incredible LIVE reproduction of some of the finest modern music ever written by the greatest pop band ever. Not an easy task, of that I can assure you. Beatle songs are not easy to recreate live (AMEN to THAT!) And to recreate the soul that Clapton himself injected into this song is a stand alone amazing feat! I cannot begin to heap enough praise on this amazing and wonderful band.”
For those of you that may be unfamiliar with them, The Fab Faux is a musical tribute band performing the works of The Beatles. The group was founded by Will Lee, bassist for The Late Show with David Letterman, and Jimmy Vivino, bandleader for Conan O’Brien, and also features Rich Pagano, Frank Agnello, and Jack Petruzzelli. The band is committed to performing live what they feel would be an accurate reproduction of The Beatles’ repertoire, often performing material The Beatles never played live.
We saw them at the China Club in New York years ago and were absolutely blown away by their amazing performances of extremely difficult to reproduce Beatles classics such as “And Your Bird Can Sing” “Everybody’s Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey” and “Penny Lane” If you closed your eyes, it was like hearing the original final mix performed by The Beatles live! Truly amazing! If you get a chancve to catch the incredible Fab Fuax on tour, don’t miss them!
