Hailing from Pembroke, Wales in the UK, Mr. Spoon are a heavy alt rock band with a sound that’s heavily influenced by Nineties grunge acts like the Pixies and Nirvana and classic hard rock a la Led Zeppelin. Drone
Drone is a heavy progressive rock band from Denmark, that describes themselves rather accurately as progressive grunge. The band combines diverse influences that include King Crimson, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Tool, and even Peter Gabriel era Genesis, to concoct a modern heavy rock sound that is at once familiar and intriguing. Recently these Danish rockers followed in the footsteps of the Beatles, relocating to Hamburg, Germany to take their career up a notch. Great Venues: The Crocodile Café – Seattle, Washington, USA
The Crocodile Café has been a mainstay of Seattle’s rock scene since the early ‘90s when it was practically ground zero for the grunge movement that was burgeoning in the city at the time. Classic bands from that era to have graced the Croc’s stage in those days include Pearl Jam, Mudhoney, and of course Nirvana.
