Chicago Players: Muddy Waters – “Got My Mojo Workin’”

What can be said about this man that hasn’t already been written? Grammy winner and Rock Hall of Fame Inductee Muddy Waters (aka McKinley Morganfield) came to Chicago in 1943 from Clarksdale, Mississippi, and was one of the driving forces that shaped the revolutionary musical genre known as the Blues. Waters himself matter-of-factly summed up his importance by stating “I think I’m responsible for Chicago Blues. I think I’m the man that set Chicago up for the real blues.”
