Fender Introduces Guitar-Themed Wine

Fender introduces its own line of guitar-themed wine

 

Fender Guitars has partnered with the Armida Winery to launch its own line of guitar-themed wines.

 

Fender’s selection of vino includes a Strat-themed Cabernet Sauvignon, a Thinline Telecaster Pinot Noir, and a Jazzmaster Chardonnay. There’s also a more high-end Telecaster Zinfandel that goes for $500 a bottle.

Smooth Hound Smith

A foot stompin’ folk blues duo from Los Angeles by way of Nashville, Smooth Hound Smith is comprised of singer/guitarist Zack Smith and vocalist/percussionist Caitlyn Doyle. Together the duo produce a surprisingly big sound that infuses simple foot percussion with fuzzed guitars and artful jazz-like arrangements with the blues and folk that are the band’s bread and butter. Smooth Hound Smith can certainly do a lot with a little as you’ll see in this charmingly simple video for “California Sway.”

Slayer Guitarist Jeff Hanneman Dead at 49

Founding member of influential thrash band succumbs to liver failure

Slayer guitarist and founding band member Jeff Hanneman died yesterday at the age of 49. Hanneman, who co-founded Slayer with Kerry King in 1981, suffered from liver failure and passed away at a hospital near his California home.

Pushing the Sun are a melodic hard rock outfit from San Francisco that was formed in 2012 by guitarist Billy Connally. Connally had previously released an instrumental album on Steve Vai’s Digital Nation label but longed to return to a classic rock format with a lead singer, bassist and drummer.
