Hierosonic is this month’s GSTV featured artist and our June Artist Showcase Winner. An alternative rock outfit with bombastic guitars and catchy, dance beats, Hierosonic hail from Harrisburg, PA and were originally formed back in 2002.
The band’s hybrid dance rock sound is harder edged than many past dance-rock outfits like the Stone Roses, and instead has a heavier, ‘90s alt-rock-grunge feel to it. Hailing from northern Indiana by way of Chicago, the Crawpuppies are a very cool Midwestern rock outfit with a classic rock-inspired take on contemporary alt rock. Local favorites throughout the Chicagoland area, the band has opened for such touring arena rock luminaries as Everclear, Cracker, Hanson, and Counting Crows. A prolific cover band, the Crawpuppies also compose catchy originals as you can see from this clip of the band doing a pop up live video in Chicago.
Guitar Shop TV met with Taylor Guitars at NAMM to check out their redesigned rosewood bodied 700 series to a vintage Americana style with a standard Englemann top and venetian cutaway. In addition to the new look, guitars in the 300 series and above are now also available in a nylon string model.
