Starar

UK indie duo Starar are an eclectic brother and sister act with a sound that incorporates elements of jazz, pop, soul, country, and rock. Singer Jenna learned to play a guitar she allegedly nicked from her and her brother Steven’s father. Both are multi-instrumentalists, with Steven concentrating on drums and bass while the two share vocal and keyboard duties. On their latest release Starar have concentrated on doing synth-pop, urban R&B styled music, but doing it with actual instruments, rather than the digital programming that rules the airwaves. The result is a sound that’s a bit offbeat but instantly engaging. Starar’s slightly quirky charm is clearly on display in this, the official video for “Christmas Tradition Living.”
