Linday Lohan’s latest brush with the law was a hit-and-run that resulted in a pedestrian being sent to the hospital and the troubled actress being sent to jail. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt in the incident, and Lindsay Lohan winding up in the headlines for the wrong reasons is nothing new.
However this time around Lohan has received support from a rather unlikely corner. Slash, the former guitarist for legendary L.A. rock group Guns N Roses has taken to Twitter and spoken out on the actress’ behalf.
“The situation last night w/Lindsey was a lame paparazzi stunt,” said the perpetually top-hatted guitar hero. “She didn’t do anything. It’s being blown out of proportion.”
TMZ, who initially reported the incident, were quick to point out that while Slash was with Lohan before she drove off and struck a pedestrian with her car, he was not actually on the scene when the accident occurred, and therefore his remarks could perhaps be taken with a grain of salt.
Slash and his band are currently on tour in support of their latest album Apocalyptic Love. The Guns N Roses guitarist is touring with vocalist Myles Kennedy in the Axl role and treating audiences across the country to sets that include classic GNR hits like “Sweet Child O’Mine,” “Welcome to the Jungle,” and “Paradise City,” as well as songs from Velvet Revolver and Slash’s solo recordings.
Slash is currently on tour in North America through early October and will finish out the year with appearances in Europe and South America. For a complete 2012/2013 tour schedule, check out Slash’s website.
