Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Sting, Aguilera, Aerosmith, Billy Joel all take part in Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together telethon

With much of the East Coast still reeling from the devastating impact of Hurricane Sandy last week, a handful of the biggest names in the music industry came together on Friday night to take part in a telethon to raise money for Red Cross relief.
Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together featured performances from deeply rooted Jersey musical icons Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi. Long Island native Billy Joel also performed, as did Staten Island-born Christina Aguilera.
Sting also leant his incomparable voice to the Sandy relief cause, performing a beautiful classical guitar version of “Message In a Bottle” with its familiar refrain about “sending out an SOS.”
Soul Diva Mary J. Blige also did a number. Another of the highlights was comedian Jimmy Fallon mustering the guts to take the lead vocal on “Under the Boardwalk” with Steven Tyler, Billy Joel and Springsteen all backing him up.
Of course, inevitably it was The Boss who really brought down the house, when he closed the show performing “Land of Hope and Dreams” with the full power of the E Street Band behind him.
