Rachel Brown: “Bumblebee”

NYC songstress performs her hit “Bumblebee” at GSTV’s Manhattan Studio

NYC-based Rachel Brown is an eclectic performer who combines elements of Caribbean, Hawaiian, hip-hop and country music into a kind of indie world pop that’s catchy and easy on the ear. With her guitar, ukelele and distinctly sultry voice, Brown began writing and performing songs while she was a student at Harvard. Soon she began playing gigs, attracting the attention of Wyclef Jean, who brought her onstage for a duet of Bob Marley’sRedemption Song” the week she graduated college.

Since then Rachel has had Jean join her onstage at her residency at NYC supper club The Darby. She has also shared the stage with major acts like Mary J. Blige and Robin Thicke.

The song “Bumblebee” has been heard in a commercial for Robbins Brothers and on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno.

Recently Rachel stopped by GSTV’s New York studio and did an impromptu performance of “Bumblebee” exclusively for our cameras. Check it out!
