The very cool Morrison Hotel Gallery was founded in 2001 in New York by former record company executive and producer Peter Blachley, former independent record store owner Rich Horowitz and music photographer Henry Diltz. The Gallery specializes in photographs of iconic rock bands and personalities, and  “has grown to become the major brand in fine art music photography.”

Its collections are indeed impressive, with amazing, often deeply moving shots of rock legends such as The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, Keith Richards, Blondie, The Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin and Johnny Cash, to name a few. The Gallery is currently running a fascinating exhibition  called” Pocket Cash,” an exhibition of iconic and unseen images of Johnny Cash, captured by the legendary rock photographer Jim Marshall. According to the Morrison Hotel website: “Jim Marshall knew Johnny Cash since 1962, became close friends, and shot photographs for five of his album covers. Marshall captured Cash as no other photographer did, his famous iconic shot of Cash flipping the bird goes down in history as one of his most celebrated images.”
