Former leaders of Britpop arch-rivals Blur and Oasis bury the hatchet for Britain’s Teenage Cancer Trust Performance

Theirs was one of the most celebrated rivalries in all of pop history, but last night in London it was all smiles as Blur’s Damon Albarn was joined onstage by former Oasis guitarist, Noel Gallagher. Also present were Blur guitarist Graham Coxon and Paul Weller of the Jam on drums. The group performed the 1999 Blur hit “Tenderness” as part of a benefit concert for Britain’s Teenage Cancer Trust at Royal Albert Hall in London.
Gallagher’s surprise appearance came in the midst of a short set by Albarn and Coxon who are gearing up to co-headline Coachella next month. The former Oasis man later returned to the stage for a set with his new band High-Flying Birds.
