Joan Jett & The Blackhearts “Bad Reputation” Live – Video

Rock’s first lady storms through her 1981 classic in performance for Guitar Center Sessions

Is rock and roll truly the secret to eternal youth? Looking at Joan Jett, you might just believe that it is.

In a recent taping at LA’s Guitar Center for Nic Harcourt‘s Guitar Center Sessions, the 55-year-old singer/guitarist looked to have barely aged a day since the era when she ruled the pop charts with hits like “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll,” “Crimson and Clover,” and “Do You Want to Touch Me.”

During the session, which airs on DirecTV this week, Jett and her band performed a set consisting of material from their new album, the appropriately titled Unvarnished, interspersed with classic material from her nearly five decades in the music business.

One of the session’s highlights was this storming version of Jett’s 1981 anthem, “Bad Reputation.”

Released on September 30th, Unvarnished is Joan Jett and The Blackheart‘s 10th studio album and first for more than seven years.
