Gear Profile: Taylor GS Series Acoustics

Dreaming about a gorgeous acoustic guitar in your Christmas stocking? Guitar Shop TV traveled to the dream destination of San Diego, home of Taylor Guitars to chat with Andy Lund about some new entries and innovations in their world-famous lines of guitars. In this clip Andy shows us one of the classic and exquisite Taylor GS (“Grand Symphony”) Acoustic Series, which features a mahogany back and sides,  a cedar top, and big, full tonality. The GS is also available in other tonewood combinations, including maple and rosewood, as well as single cutaway and 12-string versions.

Taylor Guitars was founded in 1974 by then up-and-coming luthier Bob Taylor and his business partner Kurt Listug in El Cajon, CA, where it still has its headquarters.  More than 35 years later the company has become a household name (in guitar-loving households, anyway) and is known for making some of the finest acoustic guitars in the world.  All Taylor guitars feature ebony fretboards and their patented bolt-on necks, and the higher end models offer a selection of beautiful woods from around the world.  Taylor devotees include Hall & Oates, Dave Matthews, Jason Mraz, Neil Young, Zac Brown, the Goo Goo Dolls, Jewel, and, of course, Taylor Swift!  Head to for more info and photos of their stunning guitars.
