Gibson Guitars has announced a new partnership with Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell. The iconic grunge singer/guitarist has designed two limited edition ES 335s.

The Chris Cornell ES 335 will feature Lollar Tron pickups and a Bigsby. One model will sport an army green finish, while the other will be finished in flat black. Both guitars are slated to be released later this month.

Both guitars will feature brushed nickel hardware, machine heads, and tuners. The limited edition guitars will come in a Gibson case signed by Cornell himself. Only 250 of each guitar will be manufactured.

“I am honored to have designed a signature guitar for Gibson,” said Cornell in a statement, adding that he, “Look forward to using it on tour with Soundgarden in May.”

Soundgarden will kick off their tour on May 3, in Atlantic City, NJ. That tour will be in support of the groundbreaking grunge band’s latest release, King Animal.
