Frampton to come alive again this summer with special guests B.B. King, Robert Cray and others
By Alex Baker
Peter Frampton will be back on the road this summer with Frampton’s Guitar Circus; a touring package that will see the Seventies guitar rock legend joined by the likes of B.B. King, Robert Cray, Sonny Landreth, and others.
The tour will kick off later this month and will consist of three separate legs. For the first phase of the tour, Frampton will be accompanied by Grammy winning blues guitarist, Robert Cray. He will then by joined by slide guitar master Sonny Landreth for a number of dates, before concluding the tour with a series of dates with blues legend B.B. King.
Each show on the tour will be recorded and made available for sale in digital format.
Peter Frampton first burst onto the rock scene in the late Sixties as the teenage singer/guitarist for the band Herd. He then joined Steve Marriott‘s Humble Pie as lead guitarist before embarking on a successful solo career that culminated with the release of his landmark 1976 live album Frampton Comes Alive.
Last year he concluded a successful tour to mark the 35th anniversary of that album, which remains one of the best selling live recordings of all time. As you can see from the above video clip from that tour, the veteran British guitarist still seems capable of “coming alive” with the best of them and this summer’s three month road jaunt is certain to delight guitar and rock fans across the U.S.
