Rancid frontman partners with Fender for Tim Armstrong Deluxe acoustic model
By Alex Baker
Fender Guitars has announced the release of the new Tim Armstrong Deluxe acoustic model. The guitar was in fact produced in partnership with the heavily-tattooed Rancid frontman and was actually modeled after his original ’70s Fender acoustic (see video above).
For a guitar that was designed by the leader of a hardcore punk outfit, the Armstrong Deluxe has a simple, rather understated classicism to it. The guitar boasts a solid mahogany top, bone nut and saddle, dot fingerboard inlays and Fishman Neo-D soundhole pickup with end pin jack.
The guitar is available in right and left-handed models and comes with cool accessories that were designed by Armstrong himself. There’s an embossed leather “Let’s Go” strap and the whole package comes in a deluxe-textured, vinyl-covered case.
