Martin Guitars unveils limited edition Eric Clapton Crossroads Madagascar model
Martin Guitars has unveiled a new limited edition Eric Clapton signature acoustic guitar. The 000-28EC Crossroads Madagascar will be released in a limited run of just 150 instruments and five left-handed models.
The Crossroads is made from high-quality materials such as Madagascar Rosewood sourced from Martin’s special reserve, a sitka spruce top, and “Crossroads” pearl headstock inlay. The guitar has a 14-fret neck.
“It’s been my experience that proper guitars, like those in this Collection are just made for playing – the motive behind making the guitar is 100% right,” said Eric Clapton himself of the guitar. “They are beautiful guitars; from the inlays to the rosewood they are unique from one another. One would be inclined to take care of and be in awe of them.”
One thing you’ll surely be in awe of is the guitar’s price tag. In the UK, list price for the Martin Crossroads Madagascar is £5299. However a significant chunk of the proceeds from every guitar in the series will be donated to Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Centre.
As of yet, no plans have been revealed as far a US release date for the guitar.
