Bon Iver, Whiskey, and Charity? Yes Please

“The 1608,” Bon Iver’s custom whiskey barrel guitar

Love guitars, Bon Iver, whiskey and charity? So do we. This beautiful guitar pictured above, known simply as “The 1608″ was designed by Justin Vernon of Bon Iver fame.

Perhaps even better, the guitar was crafted almost entirely with white oak wood from authentic Bushmills Whiskey Barrels. But what really ties this beautiful instrument together are the bottle cap control knobs.

The guitar was just auctioned off on Ebay for $9,400 with proceeds from the sale of the guitar going to The Confluence Project, which aims to add a community art center in the middle of Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Check out the Ebay listing to read more about this unique piece of equipment designed by an artist regarded as one of the most singularly creative talents in the music world today.
