Blameshift

A four-piece rock band from Long Island, Blameshift have an anthemic, poppy rock sound and a bombshell blonde vocalist in the form of Jenny Mann. The band has been together for more than five years now and in that time they’ve logged over 150,000 miles on the road touring. Earlier this year Blameshift made an appearance at NAMM 2012 and recently they completed a studio project with Erik Ron (Good Charlotte, Panic at the Disco) at the helm. Check out this video for Blameshift’s single “Ghost.”

Habit To

Habit To is an eclectic South African rock group that was formed in 2003. The band has a unique sound that draws on elements of reggae and new age music to form a kind of exotic conscious-rock. With appealing female singer/guitarist Chillie Stent out front, Habit To are already popular throughout South Africa and would seem to have what it takes to grow their popularity beyond their homeland. Experience the celebratory nature of Habit To for yourself with this video for “R10,40.”

The Upset Victory

Cincinnati pop-rockers the Upset Victory have a an energized presence and hooky original numbers that incorporate elements of punk, metal, and emo to come together into a very contemporary rock sound. Sandbox

At first glance Sandbox resemble a kind of LA version of the Decemberists. Like the Decemberists, they combine vintage tones with contemporary indie rock. However unlike the Decemberists, Sandbox incorporate elements of hip-hop and country into their songs. With a new album helmed by Silversun Pickups producer Dave Cooley, things are currently happening for Sandbox. The band’s retro-contemporary vibe is illustrated perfectly in this Video for “Everybody” in which prohibition meets young Hollywood and young Hollywood in turn, meets an elephant.
