Canadian indie rockers the Arcade Fire are apparently hard at work on their new album and plan on releasing it sometime in 2013.
“We’re in the studio pretty much full time,” said the band‘s drummer Jeremy Gara to Ottawa radio station CKCU. “We haven’t really gone out and done anything in over a year now. We haven’t done photos or interviews or anything. We’re just working on music and growing beards.”
As of yet, there has been no working title revealed for the highly anticipated follow-up to 2010′s smash hit The Suburbs. That album garnered the band much critical acclaim and even landed them a Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
The band have had to decamp to a new studio this time round as a collapsed roof at the church where they previously recorded forced them to relocate.
Having followed 2004′s Funeral and 2007′s Neon Bible, The Suburbs was the band’s third and certainly their most successful album to date. In addition to the Album of the Year Grammy it also garnered a Canadian Polaris Music Prize.
