According to a note posted on their Facebook page, Aerosmith have had to postpone tonight’s gig at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia, due to frontman Steven Tyler being under “doctor’s orders to refrain from performing to provide vocal rest.”
The prolific Boston rock band are currently in the midst of their Global Warming Tour, which kicked off last month at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The 18-date tour, which features support act Cheap Trick, was originally scheduled to wrap up on August 8th in Tacoma, Washington. However tonight’s gig has now been rescheduled for August 12th, extending the tour’s length by a few days.
According to the band’s Facebook page, “Tickets purchased for the July 3rd show will be honored on the August 12th date.”
In an unrelated matter, the band has also announced they’ll be postponing the release of their new record, which was originally scheduled to be released on August 28th. However that date has been pushed back to November 6th because according to Tyler, “Too many people are releasing those weeks, and we don’t want to step on their release dates.”
The upcoming album, Music From Another Dimension, will be the band’s first release since Just Push Play in 2001.
